Bro. A. H. Grocott, Master Elect, was presented and duly installed into the Chair of King Solomon.
During his year in office there were ten emergency meetings in addition to the six regular, twenty-one candidates were initiated twenty-four passed to the degree of fellowcraft and twenty-five raised to master mason. Of the new intake, nineteen were initiated by W.Bro. Grocott and the remaining two by W.Bro. J. T. Bigg, all other ceremonies were performed by the Master. Beyond doubt, this was a record amount of work undertaken by any Master since the foundation of the lodge and truly of fantastic proportions.
To say that the lodge entered a very active period of its existence would be an understatement; a new energetic growth permeated the lodge whilst the meetings were regularly and numerously attended. Indeed, the number was often so great that many brethren were unable to gain admittance to the temple, despite the crush many guests saw pleasure in becoming joining members at this period.
